Trinidad-born Etienne Charles is a trumpet player, composer, and storyteller whose work explores untold stories through rich musical textures and cultural immersion. A 2015 Guggenheim Fellow and 2022 Creative Capital Awardee, his projects like "Carnival: The Sound of a People Vol. 1" and "Creole Soul" highlight marginalized communities and connect the Afro-descendant diaspora. Charles has performed at major festivals worldwide, composed for prestigious institutions, and currently serves as an Associate Professor of Studio Music and Jazz at the University of Miami.
